His Excellency the President of Uganda Gen YK Museveni officiated at the historical event of the ground breaking for the construction of Kayunga - Bbaale - Galiraaya road.
His Excellency the President of Uganda Gen YK Museveni officiated at the historical event of the ground breaking for the construction of Kayunga - Bbaale - Galiraaya road.
This was done in fullfilment of his manifesto and commitment to serving the people.
The construction project covers a total of 87km.
In attendance were officials from China, Local Government leaders,
Former members of Parliament, Ssabanyala and Mugerere, religious leaders
The Minister of State for Transport highlighted about the project that was awarded to china Railway and Bridges Cooperation (CRBC)as the implementing Company.
The Project is estimated to cost 57 Million USD equivalent to 213 billion Uganda shillings in a duration of 2 years.
The Project scope include building a ferry at kawongo and 2 km of tarmac from trading centers.
The Hon Minister urged the residents to support the contractor, protect and own the project to avoid disruptions.
The Minister of State for Finance and Planning Hon Amos Lugolobi applauded the President for fulfilling the long awaited dream.
He praised him for his unwavering fulfillment of infrastructure development most especially roads and his consistence transformation and inclusive development leaving no region unturned.
He outlined the functions of the road as follows:
1.Enhanced regional integration in trade,tourism and cultural exchange.
2.Improved market acess for traders.
3.Acess to social services.
4.Promote tourism and fishing industries opening acess to lake kyoga.
5.Job creation to the youths.
He pledged full cooperation and support on behalf of Kayunga residents
The President congratulated the people of Kayunga upon this milestone achievement and applauded the people who allowed the road to be constructed with out compersation.
The President refered to them as clever and patriotic .
His Excellency reminded them to make use of the road by transporting Horticultural products, farming,fishery to the market and earn a living.
He urged them to make use of PDM so as to enrich themselves.
He reminded them that development is for all. rich or poor.
He further moved to Busaana town council play ground to officiate at the commemoration of the World Population Day. under the theme " promoting population health and well- being through the Parish development model."
